NPO, I.K.O. Matsushima
We are proud members of the NPO, I.K.O. Matsushima - International Karate Organization Kyokushinkaikan under the leadership of president, Yoshikazu Matsushima.
Kancho(president) Yoshikazu Matsushima was born on April 23rd, 1947. He started training karate at the Ikebukuro dojo in Tokyo, Japan in 1965. He was a student of Sosai Masu Oyama, founder of Kyokushin karate.
As one of the first branch chiefs appointed by Sosai Oyama, Kancho Matsushima has been training, teaching, and promoting Kyokushin for more than 35 years. He has taught karate around the world, appeared in magazines, TV shows and movies promoting Sosai's karate. In 1989 he was awarded a special presentation by Sosai Oyama for promoting Kyokushin Karate. He has dedicated his life to the preservation and positive growth of Kyoukushin karate.
Since Yoshikazu Matsushima was elected as President of this organization in November of 1998, I.K.O. Matsushima has grown to over 120 branches in 60 countries.
